Service Opportunities

One of the best ways to get connected at GVF is to volunteer in one of our many ministry areas. From serving in our children’s program to being a part of the greeter team and everything in between, we have a place where you can make a difference. Whether you are able to volunteer every week, bi-weekly or once per month, we invite you to explore the wide variety of opportunities available.

Worship Ministry

Do you play in a band? Do you have musical talent? Do you want to help lead worship on Sunday Morning? If you have a talent playing an instrument, singing, or some other musical ability, and you have a desire to glorify God with those gifts- then you might be either a great addition to one of our musical praise teams or the leader of a new one.

Tech Ministry

This ministry is responsible for setting-up, running, and tearing down the audio, video, and lighting for our Sunday service as well as at other church functions. We run and record the audio for each Sunday service. This ministry team will be available to perform the necessary duties in order to maintain a robust and up to date technology ministry.

Opportunities:

Equipment Operators/Sound Tech – set-up and run computer & sound systems
Technical Support – create PowerPoint text for worship and artist solos, assist in archiving digital data from weekend services

Welcome Ministry

Do you believe that first impressions can make a huge impact? That creating an accepting, inviting – and safe – environment is a must? Great! So do we.

Opportunities:

Outside Greeter – Be the first point of contact for guests on the property- help direct traffic, and assist guests with finding their way.
Ushers / Indoor Greeters – greet guests, provide programs & assist with seating
Welcome Table Host – provide information and connection points for people attending the weekend service

Logistics Support

Are you a "get it done" kind of person? Is your "behind the scenes service" which is foundational to the life of the church going to bring you joy?
Each Sunday we are required by NC3 to set-up and tear down all of our equipment to place in storage.

Opportunities:
 
Sunday Service Setup & Teardown – help by setting up or tearing down after the service
Aesthetics and Communion- coordinates with the set-up and tear-down crews in order to provide the aesthetic piece of the puzzle by helping to create an atmosphere in our meeting place that is most conducive to worship. This ministry prepares communion and the aesthetic elements of the ceremony.

Compassion Ministry

Did you know the church has left the building? We’re outside these walls , in the thick of it, across town making an impact in our community.

Communication Arts

If you love the thought of adding value by creating graphics and web content then you are in the right place.

Opportunities:

Graphic Design – create graphic elements for series promotional pieces, special events and Web projects
Web Development – create Flash animations, maintain multimedia Web content, ensure consistency and maintain interactive Web pages

Children's Ministry- Kidz of Grace

Creating the best couple hours of a kid’s week. Sound up your ally? The Children’s ministry is always looking for individuals who have the desire to pray with and teach children during the Sunday Morning Service and other times. We are always looking for solid volunteers who love kids and want to serve in this capacity.

Opportunities:

Nursery [infants through toddlers] – interact, cuddle, feed, rock to sleep - and yes, change diapers
2-year olds – prepare the ever-popular snacks (and clean up afterwards!), do simple crafts (ditto cleanup), read, teach, play
Preschool [includes 3-5 year-olds] – teach, play, read, lead small groups, serve snacks and just enjoy this fun age group
Elementary [kindergarten to 1st grade, 2nd to 3rd grade, 4th to 5th grade] – teach, play, lead small groups, supervise activites
Materials – lend your creative talents and energy to coordinate, reproduce & gather materials for classroom use
Creative Arts – providing creative energy for the children’s weekend services through puppets, sound, lights, media and worship
