Where Do I Start?

Sunday service is an important gathering of our church family, but GVF happens seven days a week in small groups, ministries and events as well as workplaces, families, online, and in individual lives throughout the region.

GVF invites you to join us in ministry. Ministry is service, and every believer is "called" to ministry. Your calling is God's personal invitation to every believer to work on His agenda, using the talents each has been given in ways that are eternally significant.

As you feel led to call GVF your church home, ministry will inevitably become a part of your life’s worship. Our church body acknowledges that everything we are, and everything we possess, is a gift from God. That is why our musicians, our ushers, our children’s ministry assistants, and people serving in all areas, donate talents and time; likewise, we give joyfully and sacrificially of our first-fruits as Scripture instructs. Weekend worship is not just a time of observation, but of experiential participation. The greeters at the door, the receptionist, the pastor…all are used by God to speak into people’s lives, to be a living sermon verbal or unspoken.

Don't be afraid to try something new...permit God to guide you to the ministry in which He has created and designed you to serve. Remember He who began a good work in you is faithful to complete it. He will always enable you to do what He calls you to do.

While not everyone is able to serve at any particular time, we encourage you to consider the following questions in relation to serving here at GVF:

1. Am I using my time and talents to accomplish my personal ministry?

2. Am I living a life of gratitude by joyfully donating a portion of my time and talent back to God?

3. Do I believe God has given me unique talents and skills to be used according to His purpose?

4. Am I willing to answer the call to ministry, even in the smallest of ways?

Pray and consider where you might best serve your brothers and sisters in Christ. Church happens 24/7; You can lend your help and skills during the week, as well as on Sundays and/or get involved in a Small group to be encouraged and equipped and to offer your encouragement and wisdom to others.

We look forward to serving with you. If you are unable to serve in this season of your life, please let us know how we may minister to you. Being the body is about both giving and receiving ministry. We encourage you to discuss your ministry needs with us.
